Crunchy Besan Thalipeeth | Besan Ka Chilla

Besan thalipeeth or besan ka chilla is a Maharashtrian breakfast recipe. Thalipeeth is a flatbread made up of 2 or more flours mixed with spices. It is a healthy option for the breakfast. 

This recipe of besan ka chilla is a little crunchy, which is made from gram flour, rice flour and rava or semolina. I mix these 3 ingredients with spices and chopped onion, tomato and coriander to make a crunchy besan thalipeeth.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Gram flour
  • ½ cup Rice flour
  • ¼ cup Rava [semolina]
  • 2 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Carom seeds
  • 1 Onion [large]
  • 1 Tomato [medium]
  • 4 Garlic cloves
  • oil
  • Handful of coriander
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Take 1 cup gram flour, ½ cup of rice flour and ¼th cup of rava [semolina] in a bowl.
  • Add 2 teaspoon red chili powder, ¼ th teaspoon turmeric powder,1 teaspoon carom seeds and salt to taste in it.
  • Add small parts of water and mix it well. Make a batter like dosa batter.
  • Add chopped onion, tomato, garlic cloves and chopped coriander to the above batter and mix it well.
  • Keep it aside for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes the batter becomes thick, as the water gets absorbed by rava. Add little water to it and make a pourable batter like dosa batter.
  • Heat ½ teaspoon of oil in a pan. Take a ladle full of batter and starts pouring from a side of a pan to the middle of a pan.
  • Cover and let it cook for 1-2 minutes. Once the bottom becomes golden and crispy, flip and cook it from another side as well.
  • Serve the hot and crispy thalipith with ketchup or sweet curd.

How To Make Besan Thalipeeth | Besan Ka Chilla :

  1. Take 1 cup gram flour, ½ cup of rice flour and ¼th cup of rava [semolina] in a bowl.

2. Add 2 teaspoon red chili powder, ¼ th teaspoon turmeric powder,1 teaspoon carom seeds and salt to taste in it.
