Homemade thick curd is an easy recipe to make fresh curd at home. We need only 2 ingredients for this creamy curd making process. We need full-fat milk and a small amount of starter curd to make fresh dahi. Starter curd can be previously made curd or a store-bought.
To make homemade fresh curd, we need to boil the milk and let it cool down. Then add the starter curd to it and set it for at least 8 hours. This curd recipe is good for smoothies and dips.
Homemade Thick Curd
Ingredients
- ½ liter full-fat milk
- 1 tablespoon fresh curd
Instructions
- Pour the milk into a pot and boil it. Do not use milk without boiling to make curd.
- Once the milk is boiled, let it simmer for 5 minutes on low flame. It helps to add thickness to curd.
- Let it cool down. Lukewarm milk also works for making curd. Now, add a tablespoon of fresh curd into it. And mix it well.
- Cover it with a lid and let it set for around 8 hours or overnight. In winter, curd making process may take more time.
- After 8 hours our fresh homemade curd is ready. You can store it in the refrigerator for a few hours before using it.
