Ingredients

  • 4 cup full-fat milk
  • 2-3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour or cornstarch

Instructions

  • Pour the milk into a pot. Here, I am using a half-liter and 1 cup of milk, which is around 4 large cups.
  • Bring the milk to boil, then turn flame to low and slowly add the lemon juice to it by stirring it.
  • Paneer starts to separate from the whey. If it takes too much time, then add more lemon juice to it and keep stirring until curdling is complete.
  • Now, take a large bowl. Put a strainer and cotton cloth on it. Pour the curdled milk on it.
  • Drain all the whey. Then add cold water to wash the paneer. Wash it 2-3 times to remove the sourness of lemon from it.
  • Gather the edges of the cloth and squeeze the excess water from it.
  • Keep the weight on it and let it drain the excess water for 20-30 minutes.
  • Now, transfer the paneer to a bowl, we can use these paneer if we need crumbled paneer to make the recipes.
  • To make the perfect paneer cubes, add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch or all-purpose flour to it.
  • Mix it well with the help of fingers. And give it a rectangular shape.
  • Cut it into pieces and our homemade panner is ready. We can use it in any curry.
