Poha is a famous Indian breakfast. I made it almost weekly. It is a quick, healthy and delicious breakfast recipe. Poha made with onions known as kande pohe and if poha is made of onion and potatoes, we can call it potato poha or batata poha.
The main ingredient of the pohe recipe is poha [Flattened rice]. Pohe recipe consists soaked pohe, fried peanuts, onion and green chili. A combination of pohe and tea is very famous in Maharastra for a breakfast. Try this quick and perfect recipe of kande pohe.

Ingredients
- 2 cups Thick poha [flatten rice]
- 1 tablespoon Peanuts
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 Onion [medium sized]
- 2-3 Green chilies
- 4-5 Curry leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon Lemon juice
- Coriander
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Take poha in a colander and wash under running water for a half minute. keep it aside for soaking for 5 minutes.
- Now, add 1/2 tablespoon of turmeric and salt to taste in a soaked poha, and mix it gently.
- heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan. Add peanuts to it and fry them for 1 minute. keep them aside.
- In the same pan, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, chopped onion, green chili, curry leaves and salt required for it. And mix well.
- Once the onion turns pinkish in a colour. Also, curry leaves and chilies turn a little crispy. Add poha, fried peanuts and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar to it. Mix gently with help of a spatula.
- cover it for a couple of minutes.
- Now, add 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice and a handful of chopped coriander in it. Mix well.
- turn off the flame and serve hot poha for breakfast.

How To Make Kande Pohe
