Chicken soup is a very comforting and nourishing dish. It is very protein-rich. In this recipe, we are not adding any vegetables. It is a very simple and easy chicken soup recipe that can be prepared in minutes. We are using 1/4 kg of fresh chicken here and freshly crushed ginger and garlic for tempering. Simple Chicken Soup Recipe
Ingredients
- ¼ kg chicken
- 10-12 garlic cloves
- 1 inch ginger
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- salt to taste
- coriander leaves
Instructions
- Make a coarse paste of 12-15 large garlic cloves, 1 inch of ginger and 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds in a mortar.
- Wash the chicken properly. I am using half a kg of chicken with medium-sized pieces here.
- Now, heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pressure cooker and add the ginger-garlic paste to it. Saute it for 3-4 minutes on low flame.
- Then, add the chicken and turmeric powder and mix it well. Cook it for 5-7 minutes on medium flame by stirring occasionally.
- Add 4 cups of hot water and salt to taste in it. Mix it well and close the lid of the pressure cooker. Take 7-8 whistles according to the chicken you are using.
- Once the steam comes out automatically, open the lid and check the chicken is cooked or not. If it is not cooked you can take more whistles accordingly.
- Serve the hot homemade chicken soup by garnishing it with coriander leaves.
