Sev puri is a famous Mumbai street-style chaat recipe, which is also known as sev batata puri. Sev puri is a quick, easy and delicious snack recipe. Sev puri is made by layering onion, tomato, boiled potato, chaat chutneys and sev on the flat puri.
3-4tablespoonsgreen chutney [mint & chili chutney]
1teaspoonred chili powder
1/4teaspoonturmeric powder
Salt to taste
1cupnylon sev
Handful coriander leaves
Instructions
Boil 2 medium-sized potatoes. Peel and cut them into medium-sized pieces. Now, add 1 teaspoon of red chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder and salt to it.
Mix and mash them slightly. Keep it aside.
Now take a serving plate and arrange flat puris in it according to the size of a plate.
Add spiced potato mixture on it by pressing it slightly.
Now add finely chopped onion to each puri.
After onion, add finely chopped tomato to each puri and sprinkle some chaat masala on it.
Now, add sweet chutney to each puri. Sweet chutney is made with tamarind pulp and dates.
Add green spicy chutney after sweet chutney. To make green chutney, grind green chilies, coriander and mint leaves together by adding a little water.
Lastly add ample nylon sev on each puri.
Garnish homemade sev puri with coriander leaves and serve immediately.
