Peas rice or peas pulao is an Indian rice recipe with aromatic spices. It is a simple, quick and tasty rice recipe. We can make peas pulao in a pot or pressure cooker.
Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee in a pan. Once ghee melted add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, 2 green cardamom, 3-4 cloves, 3-4 peppercorns and cinnamon to it.
Sauté all the whole spices for 2-3 minutes. Then add a tablespoon of crushed garlic, 2-3 chopped green chilies and 1 large chopped onion to it. Sauté it until the onion becomes translucent.
Now add peas to it. Also, add salt and sauté it for 4-5 minutes on medium flame.
Then, take 3/4 cup of basmati rice in a colander. Wash it under running water and add it to the same pan. Mix well and cook it for a minute.
Now, add 2 cups of water to it and mix well. Once the water starts boiling, cook it on low-medium flame for 10-12 minutes.
Once the rice is cooked completely. Serve homemade peas pulao or peas rice with cucumber salad.
