Bread pakora is fried bread, which is coated with a spicy gram flour mixture. It is a famous Indian snack recipe. We can make it with stuffing or without stuffing as well. To make stuffed bread pakora, fill the spicy jeera aloo stuffing inside two pieces of bread, coat it with gram flour mixture and deep fry it.
During monsoon, pakoras are famous snacks in almost all Indian homes. Onion pakora and aloo pakora are basic pakoras which are made every time. You must add bread pakora and crispy corn pakoda to your snack recipes. We can serve it as a tea-time snack or make it as a side dish with the main meal. Try this bread pakora with curd kadhi and jeera rice to make a complete meal.
Bread Pakora l Bread Pakoda Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 bread slices
- 5 tablespoons gram flour
- ½ teaspoon carom seeds
- 3 green chilies
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- coriander leaves
- salt to taste
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Cut the bread slices into a triangular shape as shown below. You can also cut it into a rectangular shape.
- In a wide bowl, take 5 tablespoons of gram flour. Add half a teaspoon of carom seeds, 3 finely chopped chilies, finely chopped garlic cloves, turmeric powder and finely chopped coriander to it.
- Add salt to taste and make a batter by adding small parts of water. The batter should be thick enough to coat on bread slice easily.
- Heat the oil in a pan for shallow frying bread pakora. Now dip the bread slice in that batter and coat it properly from both sides.
- Immediately transfer the coated bread slices to the pan. Fry 2 or more bread pakoras at a time as per the size of your pan.
- Flip it when the bottom side of the pakora turns golden and crispy. Fry it from both sides by flipping.
- Transfer the fried bread pakoras to the kitchen paper to soak excess oil. Fry all the pakoras as above. And serve hot pakoras with ketchup.
