Palak paratha or spinach paratha is an Indian recipe, which can be served as breakfast or meal both. Palak ka paratha is an Indian flatbread made up of fresh spinach, wheat flour and some spices. Using freshly ground palak puree for making palak paratha makes it healthy. Palak paratha is very easy and quick to make. We can serve palak paratha with sweet curd or Peanut Chutney or Green Chili Thecha.
Spinach is a source of iron and helps to boost immunity. If you are planning to make spinach parathas in the morning, you can prepare and store palak puree on the prior day. For storing palak puree, make it without adding water and store it in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.
Paratha is the best option to add vegetables to our meals. Also, we have a lot of variations of paratha like Aloo Paratha, Cabbage Paratha and Methi Paratha.
Palak Paratha
Ingredients
- 250 gram palak or spinach
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 2 teaspoons red chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon carom seeds
- oil
- salt to taste

How To Make Palak Paratha:
Making Dough With Spinach:
- Clean and wash the spinach properly. Drain the water and transfer it to a grinder jar. We can add green chilies here. I am using red chili powder for this recipe.
- Grind the palak into a smooth paste. Add 1/4 cup of water to it, if required.
- Now take 1 cup of wheat flour in a wide bowl. Add spinach paste to it. Also add 2 teaspoons of red chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of carom seeds and salt to taste.
- Knead the dough without adding water. If required add some wheat flour and knead it by adding a tablespoon of oil.
- Rest the dough for 10-15 minutes.
Making Palak Paratha:
- After 15 minutes knead the dough again for a minute and divide, it into medium-sized dough balls.
- Now take a dough ball, dust it with dry flour and start rolling it using a rolling pin.
- Roll the palak paratha uniformly in a round shape.
- Now transfer it to a hot pan. Roast it on a medium flame until the base of the paratha is semi-cooked.
- Flip and roast the palak paratha from both sides by applying oil or ghee.
- Make all the parathas as above and serve the tasty palak paratha with peanut chutney.
