Aloo Paratha Recipe

Aloo paratha is an Indian breakfast recipe. Aloo paratha is mainly a Punjabi dish. It is made up of spicy aloo stuffing stuffed inside the wheat flour flatbread. Different types of Parathas are made in India, which are healthy and tasty.

Ingredients
  

For stuffing:

  • 5-6 potatoes
  • garlic cloves
  • green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon of carom seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • handful coriander leaves
  • salt to taste

For dough:

  • 2-3 cups of wheat flour [Large]
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • salt to taste

For roasting:

  • ghee or butter

Instructions
 

Stuffing of aloo paratha:

  • Boil 5-6 potatoes by adding water and potatoes to a pressure cooker. Take 7-8 whistles. You can also boil it on the stovetop.
  • Let the steam come out automatically. Then, open the lid, peel and mash the potatoes uniformly using a masher or a fork.
  • Now add finely chopped garlic cloves, green chilies, coriander, 1 teaspoon of carom seeds and salt to it. Also, add 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder to it.
  • Mix it well with the help of a fork. Use your hands to combine all the ingredients if required.
  • Now divide the stuffing of aloo paratha into small parts and make round-shaped stuffing balls.

Preparing dough for aloo paratha:

  • Take 2-3 cups of wheat flour to a wide bowl. Add salt and a spoonful of oil to it. Add water in small parts and combine the ingredients. Make a dough and rest it for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes, again add a spoonful of oil to it and knead it again for a minute. Then divide it into medium-sized parts.

Making Aloo Paratha:

  • Take a dough ball. Dust it with dry flour and roll it into a small circle. Keep a stuffing ball on it.
  • Now start pleating all the edges and join them. Press the dough filled with stuffing gently.
  • Dust it with dry flour and roll the aloo paratha uniformly.
  • Heat the pan. Transfer the rolled paratha to the pan.
  • Flip and roast it from both sides by applying ghee or butter.
  • Serve spicy dhaba-style aloo paratha with sweet curd.
