Rice Kheer | Chawal Ki Kheer
Ingredients
- ¼ cup rice
- 4 cups milk
- ½ cup sugar
- dry fruits
- 3-4 saffron strands
Instructions
- Wash and soak ¼ cup of rice for around 20 minutes.
- Then transfer it to a grinder jar and grind it into a smooth paste by adding a little water.
- Meanwhile, pour 4 cups of milk into a heavy bottom pot and boil it.
- Once the milk comes to a boil, turn the flame to low and add ground rice paste to it by stirring occasionally.
- Cook it for 15-20 minutes on low flame by stirring it occasionally to avoid rice sticking to the bottom of the pan.
- Now add half a cup of sugar into it and mix it until the sugar dissolves. Cook until it thickens to the desired consistency.
- Lastly, add dry fruit slices and saffron strands into it. Mix it and turn off the flame. Rice kheer thickens with time, so do not make it too thick.
- Garnish the delicious rice kheer with dry fruits and serve it. You can also refrigerate it for a couple of hours before serving.
