Bhel Puri Recipe

Bhel puri is a quick and tasty Mumbai street-style chaat recipe. Bhel puri is made by mixing puffed rice, sev, onion, tomato and chaat chutneys. It is a quick snack for street food cravings, which we can make easily at home. While making bhel, keep the ingredients ready and prepare it just before serving. It will help to keep puffed rice crispy.

Ingredients
  

  • cup puffed rice
  • 1 tomato [small]
  • 1 onion
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon chaat masala
  • 2 tablespoons boiled potato pieces [optional]
  • 1 teaspoon sweet chutney [tamarind & dates chutney]
  • 1 teaspoon green chutney [Mint & chili chutney]
  • 1-2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons nylon sev
  • 3-4 Papadi or golgappa puris
  • Handful coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Take 1&1/2 cup of crisp puffed rice in a bowl. Dry roast them if required.
  • Now add 2 tablespoons of boiled potato pieces, 1 small finely chopped tomato, 1 medium-sized finely chopped onion, a handful of chopped coriander leaves and salt to it.
  • Also add 1 teaspoon of red chili powder and sprinkle some chaat masala on it. Mix all the ingredients properly.
  • Now take 1 teaspoon of sweet chutney, 1 teaspoon of green chutney and 1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice in a small bowl, mix it and add to the puffed rice mixture.
  • Mix it well with the help of a spoon. Then add around 4 tablespoons of nylon sev and crush 3-4 papadi or golgappa puris in it.
  • Mix it well. Adjust the amount of sev and papadi according to your choice.
  • Immediately transfer the homemade bhel puri to the plate and enjoy tasty bhel puri at home.
