Ingredients

  • 3 bread slices
  • 5 tablespoons gram flour
  • ½ teaspoon carom seeds
  • 3 green chilies
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • coriander leaves
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  • Cut the bread slices into a triangular shape as shown below. You can also cut it into a rectangular shape.
  • In a wide bowl, take 5 tablespoons of gram flour. Add half a teaspoon of carom seeds, 3 finely chopped chilies, finely chopped garlic cloves, turmeric powder and finely chopped coriander to it.
  • Add salt to taste and make a batter by adding small parts of water. The batter should be thick enough to coat on bread slice easily.
  • Heat the oil in a pan for shallow frying bread pakora. Now dip the bread slice in that batter and coat it properly from both sides.
  • Immediately transfer the coated bread slices to the pan. Fry 2 or more bread pakoras at a time as per the size of your pan.
  • Flip it when the bottom side of the pakora turns golden and crispy. Fry it from both sides by flipping.
  • Transfer the fried bread pakoras to the kitchen paper to soak excess oil. Fry all the pakoras as above. And serve hot pakoras with ketchup.
