How To Make Pomegranate Juice

Pomegranate juice is one of the refreshing and antioxidant juice. A glass of pomegranate juice provides a lot of health benefits. We can make juices in the mid-morning or during breakfast time. Even with the afternoon or evening snacks, we can have a glass of juice. For getting more benefits from fruit juices, we have to consume them fresh. Homemade juice is one of the best drinks to add to our diet. Making fresh juice at home is good option than buying readymade juice packets with preservatives. We can buy peeled pomegranates to make pomegranate juice recipe.

 Health benefits:

Pomegranate juice contains strong antioxidants. Also, it is a source of vitamin c. Homemade pomegranate juice is best to get the most of the nutrients. Pomegranate juice improves gut health and digestion. Pomegranate juice can reduce inflammation and oxidative stress. Also, it may prevent chronic diseases.

Storing pomegranate arils:

We can deseed pomegranates prior and store them in an air-tight container. And keep it in a refrigerator. I store them for 2 days in a refrigerator.

Making pomegranate juice is a little time-consuming. So, I use an electric juicer for quick pomegranate juice. We just need to add pomegranate arils to the juicer feeder and juice is ready in a few seconds. But if we make it in a blender, we need to strain it before serving.

  • 2 pomegranates

Deseeding the pomegranates:

  • Wash the pomegranates. Cut the top crown-like portion of pomegranate.
  • Make 4 shallow cuts on pomegranate. And separate each part by pulling with fingers.
  • To avoid stains, take a large and deep bowl to deseed the pomegranates. Deseed each part of the pomegranate using fingers. Remove all white and yellow membranes as well.
  • We can deseed pomegranates on a prior day or in our free time and store them in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.

Pomegranate juice using grinder:

  • To make fresh pomegranate juice, transfer pomegranate arils to a grinder jar.
  • Grind them. There is no need to add water while grinding pomegranate arils.
  • Pour the juice through a large strainer, use a spoon to extract extra juice from the strainer.
  • Transfer it to a glass and enjoy fresh pomegranate juice.

Using juicer:

  • Add pomegranate arils to a juicer feeder and run the juicer.
  • Pour the juice into a glass and enjoy the juice.

Notes

Variations:
  1. Pomegranate-apple juice and pomegranate-pear juice are my favorite variations to a pomegranate juice.
  2. While making any variation with apple juice, I prefer to use a juicer, as apple juice turns dark with time.

  2. While making any variation with apple juice, I prefer to use a juicer, as apple juice turns dark with time.

Pomegranate-apple juice:

  1. To make pomegranate-apple juice add 1 medium-sized apple with 2 pomegranate arils. Apple juice should be consumed immediately after making.

  2. While making it in a juicer, firstly extract pomegranate juice, then cut apple and extract apple juice, mix it well and consume immediately.

  3. While making it in a grinder, firstly grind pomegranate arils. Strain the pomegranate juice. Then cut the apple and grind it. Pass it through a strainer. Mix well and consume immediately.

  4. I prefer to make pomegranate apple juice in an electric juicer.

 Pomegranate-pear juice:

  1. To make pomegranate-pear juice, add 1 pear with 2 pomegranates.

  2. While making it, firstly extract and strain pomegranate juice.

  3. Then extract and strain pear juice.

  4. Mix them well and serve.
